The POST UTME is a new program that was taken into consideration by all Universities in 2006, of which few were able to implement it against all odds. Now there is no turning back on it. Kaduna State University is one of the few.
The POST UTME Screening Exercise Tests are actually designed to put a check on the calibre of individuals admitted into the institution. It has been recorded in the past that some students who come in through JAMB have very high JAMB scores, but after admission they are unable to cope academically and it's been a wonder how a student who is supposed to be brilliant as he/she was admitted on merit is struggling to stay just below average.
Some of these students eventually become a nuisance to the University because students that can't cope academically tend to find themselves useful in creating problems for the institution, thereby creating a bad impression to the public on the type of students being bred in KASU. As a result of this the school initiated the POST UTME Screening Exercise Tests to allow for only serious minded people to be admitted.
